DRIVE IN MOVIE THEATERS!

Where else can you watch first run movies affordably with your big crew (and sometimes your pets!) under the stars like generations before you? Continue the tradition (or start a new one with your family!), and check out one (or more .. or all!) of these drive in movie theaters that we are so fortunate to be within day trip distance to (we used 2 hours or less as our parameter) from Asheville! There used to be over 5,500 drive-in theaters worldwide and now we have only approximately 349 left. If you ask us, it’s one of the best ways to watch a movie and spend a summer evening, and we’re on a bit of a mission to do our part to preserve them before it’s too late! Below is a list of all the ones closest to us, in order of their proximity to Asheville. They offer one feature every Friday, Saturday, & Sunday evenings, with double features on Holiday Weekends.
