On Saturday, November 4, Henderson County 4-H will hold the annual Bake-Off Contest, open to all youth in Henderson County between the ages of 5 – 18. Each year, young bakers have surprised and delighted the judges by submitting delicious breads, cookies, cakes, muffins and brownies. The 4-H Bake-Off will be held at Grace Lutheran Church on 6th Avenue West from 1:00 – 4:00 pm. While the baked goods are being judged, we will make crafts for a nursing home and bake cookies for The Storehouse, a local food and hygiene pantry. There is no cost to enter the contest, but a registration form and a typed copy of the recipe must be submitted to the North Carolina Cooperative Extension, Henderson County Center, in Jackson Park by Friday, October 20.
