Sensory Friendly Night at Memorial Stadium with Asheville City Soccer Club. “We are proud to announce a partnership with The Arc of Buncombe County and Wicked Weed Brewing. “A Sensory Friendly Night at Memorial Stadium is an opportunity for individuals who face challenges navigating the overwhelming sensory intrusions of a sporting event to take their place next to their neighbors. ACSC and The Arc of NC have collaborated to reduce sensory intrusions such as reduced volume on PA system, working with fans to remove drums and flags, and handing out noise-cancelling ear plugs if needed, amongst other measures. The Arc, as well as other local agencies serving those with sensory challenges, will be present to help educate and answer questions on accommodations and inclusion for those interested. Before the game, Wicked Weed Brewing will be donating five Sensory Kits, to include ear muffs, fidget items, a communication chart, and other mitigating items, to ACSC for any family’s use who might need the kit to enjoy an inclusive experience in the future.”
