Jim Stokely will discuss the significance of his mother, Wilma Dykeman’s autobiography Family of Earth: A Southern Mountain Childhood.

Discovered only after her death in 2006 and published in 2016 as a typewritten manuscript, the book allows us to see into the young mind of the author, who would become one of the American South’s most prolific and storied writers.

Copies of the book will be for sale for $18, three dollars of which will be donated to the Friends of Weaverville Library.
