All are welcome to boogie down at a donation-based, all ages dance party! Proceeds will benefit neighborhood school, Asheville Primary School, also on Haywood Road.
Asheville Primary’s first and second grade “bucket band” will perform with Hall Fletcher MusicWorks students and local musician Laura Blackley, who will lead a kids’ sing-a-along. A dance-ready playlist is compiled by 2nd grader Cora Ammerman, who has been polling Asheville Primary students about their favorite songs.
“Every Friday, our children head to our hallways to join in a low light dance party,” said Polly Bolding, Preschool Enrollment and Engagement Coordinator, Asheville Primary School. “It’s so much fun that we wanted to find a way to bring that to our community.”
Asheville Primary School is Asheville City Schools’ newest magnet school, and includes a Pre-K-3rd grade public Montessori school and the main campus of the ACS Preschool Program. This event is sponsored by the school’s Parent Teacher Collective.
“Doing something to bring people together to have a great time, and raise money for the school is a win-win-win,” says Adriennne Ammerman, parent and PTC member. “Bring friends, bring family, bring anyone, and if you can donate that’s great. If a donation is not in your family’s budget right now, please come anyway and join in the fun.”
Suggested donation: $5/adult and $3/child 2+ or $15/family with 2 or more children. No one will be turned away due to inability to donate. Free parking is available in the lot across Haywood Street at the church.
The event will include:
A silent auction and 50/50 raffle to benefit the school
Donation-based face painting, temporary tattoo booth, popcorn and other refreshments
